A true story by Catherine Moore

"Watch out! You nearly broad sided that car!" My father yelled at me. "Can't you do anything right?"

Those words hurt worse than blows. I turned my head toward the elderly man in the seat beside me, daring me to challenge him. A lump rose in my throat as I averted my eyes. I wasn't prepared for another battle.

"I saw the car, Dad . Please don't yell at me when I'm driving.."

My voice was measured and...

Bring Potato Chips

Posted by WebMaster on April 5, 2013 at 9:45 AM Comments comments (0)

A little boy wanted to meet God. He knew it was a long trip to where God lived, so he packed his suitcase with a bag of potato chips and a six-pack of root beer and started his journey.

When he had gone about three blocks, he met an old man. He was sitting in the park, just staring at some pigeons. The boy sat down next to him and opened his suitcase. He was about to take a drink from his root beer when he noticed that the old man looked hungry, so he offered him some chips. He ...

Burned Biscuits

When I was a kid, my mom liked to make breakfast food for dinner every now and then. And I remember one night in

particular when she had made breakfast after a long, hard day at work. On that evening so long ago, my mom placed

a plate of eggs, sausage and extremely burned biscuits in front of my dad. I remember waiting to see if anyone noticed!

Yet all my dad did was reach for his biscuit, smiled at my mom and asked me how my day was at school. I don't remember...

The Important things

A professor stood before his philosophy class and had some items in front of him. When the class began, he wordlessly picked up a very large and empty mayonnaise jar and proceeded to fill it with golf balls. He then asked the students if the jar was full. They agreed that it was.

The professor then picked up a box of pebbles and poured them into the jar. He shook the jar lightly. The pebbles roll

ed into the open areas between the golf balls. He then asked the student...

Often we look at where are,and what has been accomplish at this point in life, then sometime think about what could have been, what we would do differently if given another chance to start over again. We wrestle with the thought Wow!!, i could be retired, living the life in the sunshine state, if only i'd stayed with that company another year, Just think about it, sleeping in late every day no alarm clocks, no time clock, and no signing in to start the day at work. How could i,...

Apples

A few years ago a group of salesmen went to a regional sales convention in  Chicago . They had assured their wives that they would be home in plenty of time for Friday night's dinner. In their rush, with tickets and briefcases, one of these salesmen inadvertently kicked over a table which held a display of apples. Apples flew everywhere.

Without stopping or looking back, they all managed to reach the plane in time for their nearly-missed boarding... ALL BUT ONE!

He paus...

Your connection with God

Often we are put down by those who have reach levels beyond ours, And if we are not careful what is said about us can shape what we become. Therefore we must believe only what the Bible paints us to be. 1 Peter 2: 9 states "You are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that you should show forth the praises to God, who called you out of darkness into the marvellous light.". Think about that, hand picked b...

A decided heart (Principle 4)

The Certain Decision

I Have a Decided Heart.

A wise man once said, “A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.” Knowing this

to be true, I am taking my first step today. For too long my feet have been tentative, shuffling left

and right, more backward than forward as my heart gauged the direction of the wind. Criticism,

Part 3 of 7

The Active Decision

I Am a Person of Action.

Beginning today, I will create a new future by creating a new me. No longer will I dwell in a pit

of despair, moaning over squandered time and lost opportunity. I can do nothing about the past.

My future is immediate. I will grasp it in both hands and carry it with running feet. When I am

faced with...

The story is told of an old man who lived on a farm in the mountains of

eastern Kentucky with his young grandson.

Each morning, Grandpa was up early sitting at the kitchen table

reading from his old worn-out Bible. His grandson who wanted to be just like

him tried to imitate him in any way he could..

One day the grandson asked, 'Papa, I try to read the Bible just like

you but I don't understand it, and what I do ...

I Will Seek Wisdom. (princ 2)

I Will Seek Wisdom.

Knowing that wisdom waits to be gathered, I will actively search her out. My past can never be changed, but I can change the future by changing my actions today. I will change my actions today! I will train my eyes and ears to read and listen to books and recordings that bring about positive changes in my personal relationships and a greater understanding of my fellow man. No longer will I bombard my mind with materials that feed my doubts and fears. I w...

The Buck Stops Here (Principle 1)

Part 1 of 7

From this moment forward, I will accept responsibility for my past. I understand that the beginning of wisdom is to accept the responsibility for my own problems and that by accepting responsibility for my past, I free myself to move into a bigger, brighter future of my own choosing.

Never again will I blame my parents, my spouse, my boss, or employees for my present situation. Neither my education or lack of one, my genetics, or the circumstantial e...

May The Lord Richly Bless You Is My Prayer

Posted by WebMaster on May 15, 2012 at 9:45 AM Comments comments (0)

Someone has written these beautiful words. Must read and try to understand the deep meaning of it. They are like the ten commandments to follow in life all the time.

1. Prayer is not a "spare wheel" that you pull out when in trouble, but it is a "steering wheel" that directs the right path throughout.

2. So why is a car's windshield so large and the rear view mirror so small? Because our past is not as important as our future. So, look ahead and...

(This was sent to me via e-mail)

A successful business man was growing old and knew it was time to choose a successor to take over the business.

Instead of choosing one of his Directors or his children, he decided to do something different. He called all the young executives in his company together.

He said, "It is time for me to step down and choose the next CEO. I have decided to choose one of you. "The young executives were shocked, but the boss continued. "I am going to...
